Four week boot making class...$6500.00
Class size: 2 students
The focus of this four week class is to learn traditional boot making techniques. The student will custom fit two pairs of lasts and build two pairs of boots. Inlay and overlay is not taught in this class. Boots will be black or brown with one row of decorative stitching. Lisa highly recommends that the student have the tools and equipment to go home and continue building boots in order to retain what was taught. Experience with a sewing machine and sanding and shaping on a sander is a plus. Unless overtime is necessary these are Monday through Friday classes and lunches are included. A set of basic boot making tools is included in the class fee. There are many required or desirable tools for boot making and some of them are no longer readily available. These will be new tools only and will hardly represent every tool you’ll ever need or want. If you wish to purchase the lasts that you customized and used those are available for $60 apiece.
Lisa will supervise and demonstrate, but for the most part class boots will be completely built by the student. If necessary she will help the student with the first pair as they develop the skills to make the second pair.

The student will custom fit one pair of lasts and build one pair of boots. Inlay and overlay is not taught in this class and the boots will be black or brown with one row of decorative stitching. This class can be approached as an introduction to learning to make cowboy boots, or as an opportunity to proudly wear a pair of boots that you built. Lisa highly recommends that the student have the tools and equipment to go home and continue building boots to retain what was taught. One week of instruction on inlay, overlay and stitching for a beginner or any technique an experienced student wants to study in depth. Student can suggest the projects for this class--leather bracelets, leather pillow tops or even boot tops for a boot the student is building at home.
